How Chip Conk Catered To The Public Eye
The best years in the life of Chip Conk began in 1983 when he created the Day Dream Publishing with the support of his two siblings, who are Chris and Joellyn. Even if he was still a student in UCSB, he didn’t know that his one small idea would turn out to be the best thing that has ever happened in his life. Just like any other clever student, Chip thought of something entertaining for his sorority group, he had this brilliant idea to hold a contest on whose guy is the prettiest in school. After finalizing the winners, he decided to put the photos of the winners into a campus wide calendar.
When the calendar started making noise in the campus, Chip got overwhelmed with the huge amounts of orders from students wanting to grab a copy of his published calendar. This is where his business passion developed strongly; he came to a realization that he has the advantage of selling calendars to people outside their school if he would keep using different varieties of interest of people.
When the idea finally turned out to be a big success, thus came the existence of Day Dream Publishing House. Chip Conk did everything in his power to make sure that this company would bear fruit as the years go by, and thankfully it did. Chip just incorporated his calendars with different athletes that are hot seasonally, or he produces thousands of copies of Walt Disney characters or any certain cartoon movie or animation that is popular during that time. Also, he made memorabilia calendars for celebrities, musicians and personality icons as well; it only means that Conk catered the publishing company to all markets. The Day Dream company that only started from a campus calendar has grown into an empire that Chip was finally able to sell it for a whopping 67 million dollars, and this was still in 1997.
By 1998, Chip Conk had another thirst in life, he wanted to make another career path for his long list of accomplishments, he then used the money he received from selling the Day Dream Publishing House to put up a new business that is focused on real estate. He named it Chelsea Residential, Chip still took his two siblings under his wing to help operate the business smoothly, and they became a noted real estate company that offers deluxe and affordable homes for residents in Florida and Austin, Texas.
